Frank Beamer after his team lost 38-10 to Clemson.
Seriously Frank? What game were you watching? Because with all due respect, and we love you Frank, but your team looked anything but prepared for last night. That was an embarrassing showing in a big game. Yes, an 11-2 record is still impressive. Yes, 19 straight bowl games is an amazing accomplishment. But you put that empty national championship trophy case in the Merryman Center, which says to your fans that YOUR goal is to win the national title. So, it would appear to us that 11-win seasons and a two-decade bowl game streak aren’t enough for you either. That being said, when you consistently fail on a national stage, you have to make some big changes if you want to hang with the big boys. Go out get a high-profile and innovative offensive coordinator, someone from outside the program, not one of “your” guys. You will never win a national title until you get an offensive coordinator that can prepare your team for the big stage. And as great a recruiter as Bryan Stinespring is, he’s not the OC that will take this program to the national championship. He’s done well the last two seasons, but he seems incapable of adapting his game plan during a big game. Last night’s loss was a prime example.
